Dr. Soumyadev Maity

Hello, I am an Assistant Professor of Information Technology at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A), India. Earlier, I have also worked as a Visiting Scientist at the Advanced Computing & Microelectronics Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata (ISI-Kol), India, and as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT-R), India. I have obtained my Ph.D. degree from the Dept. of Computer Science & Automation, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2015. My research is basically involved in the field of Information and Communication Security.  ...

MY LATEST RESEARCH

"An Efficient Lightweight Stream Cipher Algorithm for Wireless Networks". IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), San Francisco, CA, USA. March 19-22, 2017.
Abstract: A significant number of applications in mobile transactions and wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are characterized by short duration sessions. Stream ciphers are a popular choice for ensuring the security of data communication sessions in such applications. In this paper, we propose a lightweight variant of the popular RC4 algorithm that is highly suitable for energy and computational resource constrained devices in wireless networks, as compared to RC4 and its variants (e.g., HC-128), Grain-128, etc., while ...

"Security and Performance Analysis of the SEAP Authentication Protocol in MANETs". International Journal of Ad Hoc and Ubiquitous Computing (IJAHUC), Inderscience, Volume 24, No. 3, pp. 183-203, 2017.

Abstract: This paper describes and analyses a secure and efficient authentication protocol (SEAP) designed for mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs). The SEAP protocol is a server coordination-based pairwise symmetric key management protocol which works on a hierarchical network architecture and supports dynamic membership. Besides, the protocol uses a passive external membership granting server (MGS) to provide stronger security. To ensure efficiency, the protocol uses only symmetric key ...
